Job Role Details
Our category three Academy is an integral part of our club and our vision is driven by our youth development structure and community values.
This position is for a driven professional to support the Academy Manager and full time Lead Phase coaching staff with the organisation, planning and delivery of all administrative, contractual and logistical support within the Club's Academy, and for ensuring effective communication and work practices between the Academy and the Technical Board.
Reporting to: Academy Manager & Head of Academy Recruitment
Location: Based at the Football Club Main Offices and the clubs training ground(s)
Key Objectives: To Lead in the Recruitment, Coaching and Management of our Pre Academy and Elite Centre Program in the Foundation Phase
Role Accountabilities & Key Duties
1 Develop, implement and maintain working policies for the Talent ID and Recruitment staff in line with EPPP requirements and the Academy Football Philosophy
2 To deliver coaching sessions to all Pre Academy & Shadow Academy Foundation Phase players and be present at training sessions in the evenings when working with the part time coaches
3 To design and deliver the Pre Academy and Elite Centre games programme
4 Develop and maintain key relationships with professional and grassroots clubs, organisations, local leagues, schools and county associations
5 To assist in the recruitment, development and management of Talent ID staff
6 To ensure the Academy Philosophies and Values are adhered to by coaches, players and parents within the Pre Academy and Elite Centres
7 To liaise and act as the first point of contact with parents of boys in the Pre Academy and Elite Centre Foundation Phase
8 To monitor and assess all of the players in the Pre Academy and Elite Centre Foundation Phase in training and in match performances
9 To play a key role in to the scouting and recruitment process for all ages, at all levels of the Academy
10 To undertake personal CPD as appropriate to meet the demands of the role
11 To administer all tasks related to the role, including general organisation, recording of sessions and registers and player reviews
12 To attend meetings as directed by the Academy Manager, Head of Coaching & Head of Academy Recruitment
13 To undertake other appropriate duties as directed by The Academy Manager, Head of Coaching and Head of Academy Recruitment
14 To work closely with the appropriate Academy departments to ensure the operation runs effectively and that a multi-disciplinary approach is followed
15 Any other scouting requirements and general duties as directed by the department manager and other management
16 To compile department performance reviews, in line with the requirements of the EPPP, and deliver feedback to players and parents both formally in meetings, and informally as required.
17 To compile a formal report of conclusions and actions following the performance review meetings
18 To ensure all relevant paperwork is fully completed and submitted for any players signed in the Foundation Phase with the support of the Head of Academy Operations
19 To manage and assist in the implementation of the Partner Clubs initiative with all relevant Grass Roots clubs
20 To manage and designate staff roles and team entries for the annual CUFC Tournament held at the Abbey Stadium
