Job Role Details
Established in 2001, China ClubFootball is China's biggest grassroots football provider, and a licensed joint-venture. Managed by UK nationals, ClubFootball operates a football development programme for Chinese and international children in Beijing, and operates junior league competitions and coach education programmes for local teachers and coaches. ClubFootball has provided an on-the-ground presence on China projects for a variety of partners including the Premier League, Nike, and the British Council.
Assistant Director of Coaching (Coach Education & Development)
ClubFootball is seeking a qualified, experienced and passionate Assistant Director of Coaching (Coach Education & Development) to join its senior coaching management team.
The role involves a combination of external and internal developmental responsibilities. Externally, the ADoC is responsible for directing the club's coach education strategy and delivering coach education programmes to local schools and partners. Internally, the ADoC trains and develops the club's team of UK coaches through mentoring and CPD programmes.
Candidates should be qualified with UEFA B licence, or tutoring qualification and have experience of delivering coach education programmes to coaches of all levels. Equally importantly, candidates should be passionate about football development, and seeing players and coaches improve.
ClubFootball's programmes cater for players of all levels and in some aspects China's football industry is in the early stages of development, so the ability to create new programmes to fit local circumstances and an ability to adapt and be flexible to circumstances are essential.
Initial contracts run from Autumn 2021 - Winter 2022. Flights and work permits/visas are provided, as well as a salary of 1700-2200 GBP per month after tax, depending on experience.
Accommodation is arranged within walking distance of the ClubFootball HQ with westernized shopping malls and many local restaurants nearby too. Nike kit & equipment and transport to and from sessions are provided.
Please note: Due to visa regulations, candidates should have either a university degree + 2 yrs coaching experience, or a minimum of 5-6 years' experience if no degree. Candidates with a criminal record are not eligible for work permits so need not apply.
Covid 19 note: Although China's borders have been closed to regular travel since last year, the number of cases of Covid 19 in Beijing has been extremely low (less than 1000 in total) and Beijing has never been in lockdown.
Anti-Discrimination and Equal Opportunities
China ClubFootball is committed to eliminating discrimination whether by reason of gender, sexual orientation, race, nationality, ethnic origin, colour, religion or ability and to encourage equal opportunities.
