Position Description

Reporting directly to the MNT General Manager, the MYNT Head Coach will be responsible for educating, equipping, and developing our top talents through age-appropriate, skill-building approaches with the goal of grooming players to play for our Senior National Teams. This role requires the implementation of coaching expertise, excellent in-person and remote communication skills, and collaboration with peers in identifying, selecting, developing, and transitioning talents through the pathway.

Primary Responsibilities

- Reports to the General Manager

- Collaborates with the General Manager and the Director of Technical Development to create the best environment for our playersServes as the Head Coach of the U-20 Men's Youth National Team (MYNT) and may assist other Youth National Teams as needed

- Works to support a high performance environment for the Men's Youth National Team

- Works with the elite soccer players of our country, from experienced players to young high potentials

- Commits to the mission, objectives, and policies of U.S. SoccerImplements a clear strategy that corresponds with the U.S. Soccer's mission and Style of PlayImplements the education of positional responsibilities and integrates practiced routines to breed automaticity

- Contributes to talent identification and scouting in a variety of capacities

Works collaboratively with staff members to implement and execute U.S. Soccer's Mission, Objectives, Strategy, and Tactics (MOST)

- Creates a team identity based on the U.S. Soccer Technical PlanWorks together in creating a plan with development and performance goals throughout with short- and long-term goals

- Coaches NT players and selects the MYNT roster in collaboration with staff members

- Has a comprehensive understanding of the player pool

- Manages the player roster and positional depth chart

- Supports and collaborates with Youth Teams creating positional profiles for depth development and integrated alignment between our National Teams

- Complete goal setting and performance review discussions with staff on an annual basis

Manages the performance environment:

- Oversees the development and performance environment for players and staff

- Creates the conditions for an optimal on and off-the-field performance for players, coaches, and staff

- Evaluates the performance environment and offers areas of improvement on realistic, achievable objectives

- Emphasises the self-responsibility and fosters accountability of players, coaches, and staff in creating the best working relationship amongst teammates and staff

Minimum Qualifications:

- USSF "A" License or higherAt least five years of coaching experience with relevant ages

- Youth National Team experience is highly recommended

- Excellent organisational and leadership skills manage and lead self and others Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments

- Excellent written and verbal communication combined with a professional demeanour

- Must be able to connect "micro" details to the "macro" vision and mission

- Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook) and Video Editing

Location and Travel:

Will work at the headquarters of U.S. Soccer in Chicago when not travelingAble and willing to travel up to 75% of the year Able and willing to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed

- Passion for soccer Bilingual (English and Spanish)

- Proven history of developing the individual playerIdentifies valuable sources of information to discover innovations or current trends in the field of coaching

- Coaching education experience

- Evaluates reflects and focuses on self-development

- Articulates own learning needs and formulates personal development goals

- Willingness to support MYNT programming efforts of others

- Thorough institutional knowledge of U.S. Soccer's mission, goals, technical plan, policies, practices, and procedures
