Job Role Details

Role Purpose:

You will play a key coaching role within Soccer Schools that are delivered within school holidays by our Football in the Community team.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities

- To deliver fun, safe and engaging coaching sessions within our Football in the Community Soccer Schools, Skills and Development Centres.

- Effectively plan and deliver a range of high-quality football and multi-skills sessions in a range of sporting activities that are accessible to primary and secondary school children with mixed abilities

- Produce and evaluate session plans for all activities.

- Attend all relevant planning meetings and staff training days

- Take responsibility for your own performance, training and continuous professional development

- Carry out risk assessments and report any incidents / accidents to the line manager immediately

- Signposting players through the Aston Villa Foundation agreed Player Pathway

- Support the wider work of the Foundation delivering on other sport and coaching programmes.

- Demonstrate commitment to Safeguarding by adhering to relevant policies, procedures and values relating to safeguarding children and adults at risk

- Support the Club's commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion

- Any other reasonable duties and responsibilities which your line manager or another senior officer at the club asks you to perform.

Qualifications, Key Skills & Experience

Essential

- Minimum FA Level 1 in Football Coaching

- Hold a valid UK Driving License and be flexible travelling to and from different schools/venues

- Commitment to working during School Holidays

- Knowledge and understanding of child protection issues including holding a current FA Safeguarding Children Workshop certificate

- Ability to engage with young people from all backgrounds

Desirable

- FA Level 2 in Football Coaching.

- Level 2 or equivalent in other sports or multi-skills.

- Knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum for Key Stages 1 and 2.

- Experience of working within a community environment.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with different audiences

- Flexible to work evenings and weekends
