League Cup Joy for Celtic
- Celtic beat Aberdeen 3-0 in the Betfred Cup final
- Goals from Rogic, Forrest and Dembele seal the first trophy of the Scottish season
- First silverware for new management team of Brendan Rodgers, Chris Davies and Sport Careers Agency client John Kennedy
- Disappointment for SC client Derek McInnes as he fails to win a second league cup with Aberdeen
Celtic claimed the first silverware of the Scottish season after seeing off Aberdeen 3-0 in the Betfred Cup final at Hampden.
Goals from Tom Rogic, James Forrest and Moussa Dembele (pen) secured a comfortable victory for the Hoops, and a first piece of silverware for the new management team of Brendan Rodgers, Chris Davies and client John Kennedy.
Victory in the revamped and renamed League Cup competition was Celtic's 100th major trophy, and a first in management for Rodgers and Davies.
Kennedy was part of Ronny Delia's coaching staff during the club's League Cup win in 2015 and Premier League victories in 2015 and 2016.
Celtic showed no signs of any hangover from their midweek Champions League defeat to Barcelona with a hugely impressive performance which underlined their strong start under Rodgers- who has yet to preside over a domestic defeat.
Aberdeen manager and Derek McInnes put the disappointment of failing to add to his 2014 League Cup win with the Pittodrie side into perspective.
The client stated that there is "no disgrace" in losing to Celtic in their current form and urged his side to use their disappointment as motivation for the remainder of their league and Scottish Cup campaigns.
