Gold's Gym in Saudi Arabia - Female Only Multi-Sport Court & Pitches
You've just finished a contract working with the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee (SAOC). What did your role involve?
Though I was officially the S&C Coach, my role incorporated a number of other elements related to programme management and general performance improvement.
Not only was I responsible for guiding the physical development, improving the well-being and optimising the performance of the female athletes, I also had to actively support and empower other coaching staff; coordinate coaches and athletes training abroad; build sustainable relationships with external stakeholders; and work closely with a variety of different sports federations.
I led by example in establishing a strong level of trust throughout the entire Wild Card Programme that was built on sincere, open and trusting communication.
In addition, I worked to reduce fear, increase individual and team-based productivity, and facilitate positive solutions to accomplishing goals.
I was successful in the role's overall aim of enhancing the athletes, coaches and sports programmes, but more importantly I was able to increase awareness and facilitate positive and meaningful change for females participating in sport in Saudi Arabia.
