RAY HEWITT has taken a major step forward in his football career after he was appointed International Soccer Academy Manager at Scottish giants Celtic.

The UEFA B Licence coach and Sport Careers Agency client will be working with the Hoops' North American and Australian partner clubs to help push projects there forward.

And he said: "I can't wait to get stuck into the new job."

Ray has had a solid coaching background in the Academy world at Celtic's Premiership rivals St Mirren and Motherwell.

He has also guided female sides with the respected Glasgow Girls FC and at University of Glasgow.

Ray's educational background saw him earn a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science at the University of the West of Scotland. Now he takes his football experience and learning into an exciting sphere at a club with a truly global brand.
