THE ONLY WAY IS UP...Derek Adamas is aware of what the expectations are at Bradford

DEREK ADAMS should have "We are Going Up" as the ring-tone on his mobile phone.

The 45-year Scot and is the game's promotion expert with FOUR now on a glittering Sport Careers Agency CV that constantly needs updating.

Now English League Two side Bradford City have swooped to land the former Ross County and Plymouth Argyle boss in the wake of his latest triumph as he guided Morecambe into League One for the first time in their history.

Adams had the smallest budget in the English professional game at Morecambe but it didn't stop him on his way to a remarkable against the odds promotion.

His career in the technical area has also seen him take Plymouth back into League One in England and Ross County into Scotland's Premiership.

This is a manager who knows how to handle the pressure of big expectations.

And after signing a three-year deal at fallen giants Bradford he said: "I am here because I like working under pressure and if you take this job, you are going to be under pressure from Day One.

"You have got to get yourself moving and out of this league into League One. I am under no illusions what this job entails.

"At Plymouth, we had to do exactly the same and Morecambe was a different situation - keeping a club in the Football League and then we got ourselves out of the division.

"I know what I am here to do."
