About Us

Savehands Goalkeeping Academy is one of the largest and most successful private goalkeeping academies in Scotland. Now in its seventh year, Savehands is based in Glasgow and runs academies covering the whole of Glasgow and the West as well as summer camps throughout the whole of Scotland. Savehands academies always strive to use the best possible equipment and facilities and will not use 5 aside pods outwith club partnerships.

About the Owner- Ross Ballatyne

Savehands Goalkeeping Academy owner and director of coaching Ross Ballantyne is a holder of the Goalkeeping License Diploma (the highest goalkeeping award in Scotland). He is currently the first team goalkeeping coach at SPFL league 2 champions Albion Rovers, lead academy goalkeeping coach at Heart of Midlothian in the Scottish Premiership and an SFA performance goalkeeping coach.

Ross utilises all of his considerable experience in the game to ensure that every a the highest level of professionalism throughout every aspect of the Savehands Goalkeeping Academy, from his own coaching to the overall organisation and planning of sessions.

Goalkeeper Development

At Savehands the number one focus is always the development of individual goalkeepers. Since the academy was launched in 2009, 64 Savehands goalkeepers have go on to sign for clubs signed on at pro youth, semi-professional at full-time level. Currently there are eight products of the academy involved as goalkeepers in the SPFL Under 20s Development league.

Club Partnerships

Savehands are currently involved in several successful partnerships with clubs across Scotland. These partnerships involve Savehands our coaches coming into clubs and running their own individual club goalkeeping programme. As part of being partnered with Savehands clubs are able to use Ross Ballantyne as the goalkeeping coach for their club mark awards.

Current club partners include some of Scotland's largest community clubs- Linithgow Rose , Hillwood Boys' Club and The Toryglen Hub which includes Hampden Boys' Club, The Clyde School of Football and Thistle United.
