An immensely talented goalkeeper with experience playing in England, Scotland, European competition and on the international stage, David Marshall has progressed through the game to become one of the most well regarded goalkeepers in British football.

Having developed at Celtic FC, David made his mark with a number of impressive displays before making the move to Norwich FC, where he became a club stalwart for the next two seasons. His success at Norwich earned him a move to Championship title contenders Cardiff City, winning the title in 2012/13. David has since gone on to excel at Premier League and Championship level, firmly securing his place as Scotland’s number one goalkeeper.

Key Achievements

  • Kept 18 clean sheets in the 2012/13 season, more than any other goalkeeper in the Championship
  • Won the Man of the Match award against Huddersfield Town FC on the opening day of the 2012/13 Championship season, on the same day as making 100th league appearance for the club
  • Helped secure the 2nd best overall defensive record in the Championship in 2012/13, as well as the best defensive record at home after only conceding 15 goals in 23 games at the Cardiff City Stadium
  • Bamed in Sky Sports’ Premier League ’Team of the season’ for 2013/14
  • Played in every minute of every game of both the 2007/08 and 2008/09 seasons for Norwich City , coming third in the club’s Player of the Year awards in the 2007/08 season
  • Came on as a half-time substitute against Barcelona in the 2003/4 UEFA Cup aged just 19- keeping a clean sheet in both this game and the reverse fixture at the Nou Camp with a number of impressive saves to seal a famous win for Celtic.
  • Kept a clean sheet in first Old Firm derby at Celtic Park against Rangers in a 1-0 win (also while aged 19)
  • Saved a penalty from Barcelona’s Ronaldinho in the 2004/05 Champions League, making a string of fine saves to keep the score at 1-1 until the last 12 minutes of the match
  • Played against other major European clubs including AC Milan, Villarreal CF and FC Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Cup
