A results-driven and conscientious Goalkeeper Coach who is experienced in designing and delivering first class age-appropriate coaching sessions for elite youth and professional goalkeepers throughout Scotland and New Zealand, working with the likes of Rangers, Kilmarnock, Aberdeen and the Scottish and New Zealand FA.

A forward-thinking coach who works diligently to provide an open and supportive setting, whether it be at club or national level, to ensure players are given the highest standard of coaching and resources to compete at the next level of football.

A well-rounded professional who has demonstrable success across all areas of the game - whether it be coaching elite players, establishing own goalkeeping business, delivering coach education or working alongside some of the country’s top coaches - is more than capable of working in line with an organisation’s strategies to realise player and club achievements.

Key Achievements

  • Scotland qualified for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, for the first time in the nation’s history
  • Gained invaluable experience coaching the Scotland U21 men’s squad during international qualification campaigns
  • Performed a lead role in refreshing the Scottish FA’s Goalkeeping coach education pathway, including the creation of the new UEFA Goalkeeping B Licence
  • Scotland were the host nation for the UEFA Goalkeeping seminar
  • Won the U19 National Championship and the Ivan England Trophy with the New Zealand national team in 2012
  • Experienced and adept at generating successful GK development programmes at both national and club level
  • Recognised nationally, having coached across both New Zealand and Scotland’s national squads
  • Proven track record of producing goalkeepers from youth level up, with multiple players moving into the national game
  • Built up and established Mittz Goalkeeping as Scotland’s largest goalkeeping academy, with 12 academies across Scotland
  • Helped Lower Hutt City on to become the U19’s National Champions in 2011, with seven players receiving national call ups
  • Enjoyed a successful career as a Sports Lecturer for 5 years at Ayrshire College, City of Glasgow College and North Lanarkshire College
  • Recognised nationally at the Scottish College Awards in the area of ‘Innovation and Curriculum Design
  • Successful launched, grew and developed own company, Mitz Goalkeeping, as a result of being part of the Espark programme which is funded by Sir Tom Hunter and Lord Willie Hauchie
  • Mitz Goalkeeping won various awards and received greater levels of funding due to its success while taking part in the programme
  • Contributed to the development of various Goalkeeping Coaches who were candidates on the Scottish FA’s coach education pathway courses and are now working in national league, including SPFL, Premier League, Ligue 1 and Portuguse Superliga and MLS
  • Contributed to the development of a number of players who have progressed into the Scotland Men’s A National Squad, following the implementation of the player pathway which was introduced in 2017
