1st Team Assistant Manager

I have a passion for the game of football. My experiences as a player have shaped how I view the coaching role. Exposure to coaches who were dictatorial as well as those who nurtured young talent, has allowed me to form my own opinions of when to be stern and when to be gentle.

For me, the players are individuals and need to be treated as such. My ability to read situations and people, helps me to get the most out of my players. I can tell when things are not right and depending on the personalities I am dealing with, I am able to focus and get the individual back. My man management skills are excellent and my players have always enjoyed the fact that I am honest with them. I am able to let someone know they need to do better without being rude or disparaging.

My dedication to improving players and getting the best out them shows in my planning and execution of training. My passion comes out and the players feed off of this. Productivity is boosted when players enjoy what they are doing and understand why they are doing it. Whether they are 1st team players or youth players, I try to ensure that they are provided with the best opportunities to improve.

Having had the opportunity to run my own coaching school over the past 3 years, I have worked with children from age 6 to 16 in the youth game. Adaptability is key when working with different age groups. Understanding physical limitations, mental capacity to follow instructions and retain information, as well as managing differences between boys and girls, has provided me with a wealth of experience.
