James Bryden

Academy Coach / Manager

  • Date Joined: 30th August 2021
I am a highly ambitious and driven UEFA qualified Coach who has gained a wealth of experience in elite academies and through coaching roles in the Armed Forces and I am proficient in developing individuals and teams to fulfil their potential.

Through 22-years distinguished service in the Royal Air Force I have enhanced my own personal development through completing management courses, have proved to be adept in leading and mentoring colleagues and utilise the same traits within the coaching environment to enable elite academy players to progress in their career.

Within coaching I am adept at designing coaching syllabuses and programmes to enhance the technical development of players, as well as further their social and psychological development and I implement a Learning Culture which helps to develop leaders and enables those I am coaching to grow as players but also as people.

Key Managers Worked Under:

Worked under esteemed coaches who have helped to shape my coaching philosophy, including

• Alan McLoughlin: Swindon Town FC

• Lee Peacock: Swindon Town FC

• Martin Hunter: Southampton FC

• Steve Welsh: Boston United FC

“I have had the pleasure of working with James for the past five seasons within Swindon Town’s academy where he has coached both Foundation Phase and Youth Development Phase players. His enthusiasm for player development and industrious nature has had a positive impact on how our academy operates today. His passion for development highlighted an area for improvement within our Foundation Phase and led to the creation and introduction of ‘Master The Ball’.” - Lee Peacock: U18 Manager, Swindon Town Academy & Former Head of Coaching, Swindon Town FC
