Youth Football Coach

  • Date Joined: 11th May 2016
I am a highly-qualified and ambitious football coach with strong experience of working with players at all age groups from U8 to senior football, demonstrating a proven focus on individual development and team performance.

Combining roles as a coach, development officer and college lecturer has enabled me to develop excellent communication skills and the ability to impart information clearly and concisely, whether dealing with players, students, parents or external funding organisations.

I have coached in elite-level women’s football, as well as gaining experience in the USA with LA Galaxy Orange County, and always display a strong work ethic and a commitment to core values like teamwork, professionalism, organisation and time-management.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Work Ethic: Demonstrates an exceptional work ethic with a dedication to providing high standards of coaching and work in all operations.

Organisation: An individual who is able to coordinate the demands of multiple teams simultaneously and effectively manage own time.

Tactical Analysis: A skilled strategist who is able to analyse both the players and opposition to improve team performance and design innovative tactical plans for coming matches.

Knowledge & Development: Possesses an in-depth knowledge of how a club operates, and is committed to expanding existing skill set as much as possible.

Adaptability: Able to adapt to any requirements of a club as required. As comfortable leading players on the training pitch as assisting with off field matters.

Coaching: Highly experienced in the day to day processes involved in successful coaching, gaining players’ buy-in through sessions that are both challenging and conducive to growth.

“Jamie is a forward thinking coach who puts player development at the heart of what he does. He has played a huge part in the recent success at Glasgow City FC and he is constantly looking to better himself and others around him.” - Scott Booth: Head Coach, Birmingham City Women’s FC | Former Head Coach, Glasgow City FC

“Jamie is a really hard-working and enthusiastic coach who has impressed me throughout his time at Rangers. His preparation in his coaching is always clear to see, and he is open minded to new techniques and ways of improving his players as evidenced by his work and qualifications in performance analysis. This forward thinking approach has seen Jamie progress from his current role with the U17s to assisting with the club’s senior players as a Video Analyst. Jamie is committed to continuously developing as a coach for his players’ benefit as well as his own, an attitude which makes him a pleasure to work with.” - Kevin Murphy: Girls Academy Manager / Assistant Coach, Rangers Women’s FC | Former Head Coach, Rangers Women’s FC

“Jamie is a very dynamic and enthusiastic coach with great drive and a desire to constantly develop in the game. As well as his strengths as a coach Jamie also has a keen interest and commitment to club development, therefore making him a difference maker both on and off the pitch. As a person he is someone who has the personality to relate to all groups and is a genuinely positive individual with a real passion for developing players and the game of football.” - Angie Hind: Head Women’s Soccer Coach, Old Dominion University | Former Head Coach, Rangers Women’s FC
