Football Development Manager / Ladies Team Head Coach UEFA B Coach
- Date Joined: 24th April 2017
As Football Development Manager at Aston Villa Football Club since 2010 and Head Coach of Aston Villa Ladies since 2012 I was responsible for strategic direction of the Football Development Department and managing and delivering the Football Development programme in the local community. I also managed the regional talent centre for the female elite section and the Aston Villa Ladies Team.
The department delivered high quality football activities (including soccer schools, clinics, curriculum time activities, a football development programme) and innovative initiatives working closely with other key stakeholders at the Club and external agencies (FIFA, FA, Premier League, County FA’s, other grass roots teams, local Council). The coaching programmes developed beyond the local community and I have organised international coaching programmes in the USA, Italy, Sweden and Hong Kong.
As Head Coach of the senior Ladies Team I have seen the game develop and watched players progress through the centre, some of whom have gone on to represent England. I therefore have an excellent understanding of the football industry and women’s game in particular.
The many elements to my role at Aston Villa has meant that I have had to be incredibly organised and I am consequently used to juggling competing priorities, managing a team, players and parents. I am used to making key decisions and liaising with other senior staff. I have developed an extensive network of contacts working collaboratively with a range of people, clubs and organisations across the industry.
