Kevin Sheedy

Manager Waterford FC

  • Date Joined: 10th June 2021
I am an experienced, determined and highly-motivated UEFA Pro Licence Coach, having held a wide variety of roles since making the transition into a coaching environment following an elite-level international playing career; I have gained a wealth of experience at all levels of the professional game in a career spanning 45 years.

Throughout my coaching career I have shown a commitment to developing talented young players and have played a key role in helping many of them become established international stars; I have also built up a bank of experienced contacts across the football world and I am meticulous in planning and delivering coaching sessions.

I have worked with a host of leading Managers, all of whom have helped shape my own coaching philosophy, but I have always been determined to forge my own path in management and I have clear and innovative ideas about coaching in the modern game which I have put into practice at Academy and senior level.

I have held a variety of key posts at clubs in England, the Republic of Ireland and Saudi Arabia, ranging from Manager to Youth Coach and encompassing every aspect of football management.

“I’ve known Kevin as a friend and colleague for 40 years and have seen him develop into an excellent Coach and Manager. He is thoroughly professional in everything he does and I would recommend Kevin in any capacity.” - Peter Reid: Former England international footballer and ex-Manchester City, Sunderland and Leeds United Manager

“In the 39 years I have known Kevin I have found him to be a highly-motivated professional both as a player and as a manager. He is totally dedicated to his profession, is always positive and has excellent people skills as well as a winning mentality.” - Kevin Ratcliffe: Former Everton and Wales international footballer
