I am an experienced and accomplished Sports Administrator and Team Leader with an impressive track record of developing and delivering a wide range of sporting programmes in a Higher Education environment, having increased student participation in Griffith College’s sports teams by 400%.

My background in the Finance and Business sector has equipped me with a clear understanding of the need for prudent budgeting and the skills to source funding and sponsorship opportunities; I have strong communication and interpersonal skills and I am comfortable dealing with potential investors and external funding agencies.

I have a lifelong passion for sport and relish the opportunity to contribute to the development of Irish sport; as an administrator I have built and maintained strong and lasting relationships with organising bodies across a wide spectrum of sports and have gained invaluable experience in senior voluntary roles with the Colleges FAI.

Leadership: A former Army Reserve Sergeant in the RDF (Reserve Defence Forces), has valuable experience of leading from the front, keeps a calm and clear head when under pressure, and has highly-developed leadership and mentoring skills.

Personal drive: Self-motivated individual who throws himself whole-heartedly into every challenge and is meticulous is seeing projects through from start to finish.

Teamwork: Understands the value of working together to achieve a collective goal and has gained a wealth of experience from collaborating with colleagues and external organisations.

  • Griffith College Dublin: Established the College’s first sports scholarship scheme; starting with two scholarships it now gives up to 24 athletes each year an opportunity to study and play while on scholarships
  • Griffith College Dublin: Raised the number of students participating in the College’s sports teams and activities by 400%
  • Griffith College Dublin: Developed a far-reaching basketball programme - including a partnership with Superleague club Templegue Basketball - which has seen the College rise from Division 3 to become D1 champions and the highest-ranked College team in I
  • Griffith College Dublin: Generated fresh income streams through sponsorship and other marketing initiatives, including an adidas kit deal
  • Griffith College Dublin: Created a ‘team’ ethos within the department and successfully integrated volunteers into the sports environment
  • Griffith College Dublin: Developed and implemented a Schools Marketing Strategy in close collaboration with faculty heads to drive awareness of the College’s courses amongst Leaving Cert students
  • Griffith College Dublin: In tandem with College’s digital team, created a strong presence on online platforms

  • Represent the Colleges FAI on the FAI Senior Council and CUFL International Committee, and lead the executive committee of the CFAI
  • Chair the team responsible for organising international matches and showpiece Cup Finals
  • As Logistics Manager, responsible for organising all transport, accommodation, meals and equipment at tournaments
  • Member of the backroom team supporting the Irish College Squad at four World University Games - Russia 2013, South Korea 2015, Taiwan 2017 and Rome 2019
  • Built a bank of professional contacts at national and international level across a wide spectrum of sports
